Why did you choose to write an article against Islam and not Christianity?
I have been debating with quite a lot of religious people for quite a lot of time. I was debating with everyone, no matter what, as far as I understand their religion, just a bit. Yes, this is completely unprofessional, but these people were bullying me, misgendering me, and they were really toxic. Meanwhile, I've actually had some good debates. It's a really rare thing, usually, they don't even know their own book, whether it's the Bible or the Quran. While debating, I read a LOT of bad things, but at some point, I stopped debating Muslims just because it's so bad that I couldn't even speak with these people without getting my voice chat banned while quoting their own book, funny, right? Today, I'm going to provide every single argument I have against Islam and why I think that Islam is even worse than Christianity.
Part 1, Music
According to Grand Mufti Al-Azhar, there is nothing in Islamic tradition that explicitly prohibits music. The hadiths used by proponents of the ban always mention music in the context of debauchery, alcohol, and other vices.
Also, the Quran doesn't directly mention “music,” but classical scholars have derived a prohibition from verses describing “lahwal-ḥadīth” (empty entertainment) and “the voice of shaitan.”
As far as I can understand from what I've heard and read, music could be a really controversial topic, and there's quite a lot of debating whether music is allowed in Islam or not. Let's take a look. People stop listening to music completely just because of something that wasn't even said in the Quran, concluding that they don't even know their religion and what they follow.
Part 2, Ramadan
The criticism of fasting is not directed at the idea of abstinence itself, but at its mandatory nature and specific requirements, the prohibition on drinking water during daylight hours. During the daytime hours of Ramadan, practicing Muslims inevitably become dehydrated, although it has not been proven that they are chronically dehydrated throughout the month. Sleep and circadian rhythm disturbances are also associated with increased risk factors for metabolic, endocrine, and gastrointestinal problems.
Also, in northern latitudes ( Scandinavia, Iceland ), fasting can last 20+ hours in summer, which becomes a real test. Many Muslims with chronic illnesses still choose to fast, which can negatively affect their health.
Although patients are formally exempt, social pressure is ... Yeah.
Part 3, Homosexuality & LGBTQIA+
For context, you can't choose to be gay, bisexual, or transgender. You can't choose whether you want to experience empathy for one or another sex/gender. Also, the DSM-5 (2013) and its 2022 revision (DSM-5-TR) don't list homosexuality as a mental disorder or include any diagnostic category based on sexual orientation. "Studies have indicated that same-sex orientation and behavior have a genetic basis and run in families, yet specific genetic variants have not been isolated." Source: Science
Hadiths clearly condemn homosexual acts between men, and the Quran ( 4:16 ) calls for an unspecified punishment for indecency, and the prophet is credited with instructing that both participants be put to death. The Quran repeatedly refers to the story of the Prophet Lot as a condemnation of male homosexuality.
Part 4, The Quran Itself.
Slavery and sexual slavery, “that which your right hands have taken possession of”
Quran 4:24 forbids sex with married women, except those whom “your right hands possess” this legalizes sex with prisoners of war, whose previous marriages are annulled by the fact of their captivity.
Quran 23:5-6 praises believing men who “guard their private parts from all but their wives and those whom their right hands possess.” That is, sex with slaves is directly equated with marital sex and is not considered a sin.
Quran 33:50 special permission for Muhammad: he is allowed to have wives, female slaves from among the spoils of war, and cousins. This is literally a personal divine permission for polygamy and sexual slavery.
Quran 4:34 beating wives, this has led to domestic violence being permitted by law in a number of countries with Muslim majorities or largely ignored by the authorities.
Quran 9:5 “The verse of the sword” is the most frequently quoted “warlike” verse: after the end of the sacred months, “kill the polytheists wherever you find them, capture them, besiege them, and ambush them.”
Quran 9:29 an order to fight the “People of the Book” (Christians and Jews) until they pay the jizya “in a state of humiliation.”
Quran 2:191-193 “Kill them wherever you find them.” “And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from where they drove you out. Fitna is worse than killing.” Further: “Fight them until there is no more fitna and religion belongs to Allah.”
Quran 5:38 Cutting off hands for theft “Cut off the hands of thieves, male and female, as punishment for what they have done.” This is not a metaphor it is a literal order for amputation, which is still carried out in Saudi Arabia and by the Taliban.
Honestly, it's not even all of it, there's just too much to talk about when we mention something like Islam or Christianity, however, if you can think as a normal person, you'd definitely agree that this is not ok.
